Notes: In 1776 William Ellery's "Great Store" was on the bank of the Connecticut River, near the foot of Potter Street (where the Hartford Convention Center is now). Ellery was appt'd postmaster of Hartford by Franklin in 1775, but had held the office since ca. 1768. Dige died of asthma.
